A captivating exploration of ordinary people who have committed to partner with the Holy Spirit by speaking words of prophecy to anyone that God puts in their path, CHRIST IN YOU: THE VOICE showcases life-changing encounters with the love of Christ. The documentary also includes interviews with Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, Lisa Bevere, John Bevere, Graham Cooke, Bob Hazlett, Raniero Cantalamessa, and everyday people who provide wisdom in navigating towards a prophetic lifestyle.
We are honored to be able to catch up with Andrea di Meglio for this exclusive interview.
Q: Andrea, thanks for doing this interview with us. Tell us what is the film "Christ In You: The Voice" about?
This movie features a captivating exploration of the power of prophecy and the love of God. The movie shows ordinary Christians, who set an example by partnering with the Holy Spirit and releasing God's perspective wherever they go. We hope that through this movie, Christians will be trained to see people from God's perspective because we believe that if you see what God sees, you can say what God is saying.
Q: What is your role in this film?
I was the main leader of this project or the so-called "Producer". I helped to organize and coordinate the whole project, giving ideas and the vision of the film. I was also able to do most of the interviews with the church leaders like Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton etc. And I was strongly involved in the editing process as well in order to make sure that we have a smooth story to tell.
Q: Who are some of the people featured in the film? How did they get involved?
The unknown people on the streets exercising the gifts of the Holy Spirit are personal friends. I have known these people for a long time and know that they love God with all their hearts. They are authentic and risk-takers even when they don't have a camera pointing at them. Then we had different church leaders like Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, Lisa Bevere, John Bevere, Graham Cooke, Bob Hazlett or Raniero Cantalamessa. We have met some of them in the past and started to get access to these wonderful men and women of God. And with the others we got in touch with them through their ministry website. It was a huge blessing to be able to connect with them.
Q: Why is it important to talk about the Holy Spirit and the gifts He gives?
Paul the Apostle says in 1. Corinthians 14:1, "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy." If you study the word "desire" it is actually a very aggressive one. We are assigned to chase the spiritual gifts because they have been made available for every believer. In the Gospel of John, Jesus talked a lot about the Holy Spirit. I have heard someone say that the Holy Spirit is Jesus unlimited. Jesus in His earthly body could only be in one place at one time. But through the Holy Spirit, Christ lives in every believer. And the more we get to know the Holy Spirit the more we will know Jesus because it is the Holy Spirit's job to reveal Christ and to point at Him. And I believe it is our greatest privilege to partner with the Holy Spirit.
Q: Are you seeing that more people around the world are committing to hearing from the Holy Spirit and acting on their spiritual gifts?
I really believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are being poured out in a measure like it has never happened before. There are more people claiming the gifts of the spirit like never before. I have worked with so many different churches over the last ten years that made such a process in their pursuit of spiritual gifts. Alone in Switzerland I know many churches going after the gifts of the spirit that did not believe in the gifts 12 years ago. This includes the gift of hearing from the Lord. And that is something God has been doing all over the world in the last decade.
Q: In the US we always hear that Europe is a secular state. Are you seeing a rise in Christianity in Europe?
This might be true from an earthly view but not from a heavenly perspective. And since we are called to partner with heaven and not with the earth, I don't give too much attention to those statistics and statements. Jesus said 2000 years ago that the harvest is ripe and plentiful.
So, if the harvest was ready 2000 years ago, how much more is it ripe today? The problem is that if we believe Europe to be a secular place we will act according to our beliefs and will find negative confirmation in that. Therefore, I want to believe the opposite. And I am not saying that in order to escape a reality. I am saying that because it would not require any faith from me to believe that Europe is a secular place and we cannot really change it. So my goal is to declare that the harvest is ripe and that we need to go out and share the Gospel. I try to be focused on our mission more than what others say Europe is like. And I really do believe that there is a rise of Christianity. But definitely keep praying for Europe!
Q: Why and how can we see this new film? What do you hope people take away after watching it?
You can get the movie on live.oceanave.tv. My hope and prayer is that people start to believe that they can hear from the Lord in a very practical way so they can change their environment through that. Hearing the voice of God is the key that helps us grow in our identity. It is His voice that created all the things we see and don't see. Jesus Himself said that men shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. We are to constantly live from the voice of God and I really pray that through this movie, people will be inspired to give words from God to others.
