About Ayiesha Woods
Ayiesha Woods was born in Long Island, New York and was raised early on, on the British island of Bermuda. With her grandfather being a professional musician, Woods began writing songs at an early age, which led to her diverse music style that includes pop, soul, urban and rock. In her teens, Woods began writing Christian lyrics when the Lord changed her direction for music. She eventually recorded a Marlin award winning independent album, What You Do to Me, which led to Toby Mac signing her to Gotee Records in 2004. Her debut project, Introducing Ayiesha Woods, released in 2006, which garnered her Grammy and Dove award nominations. She recorded two more projects for Gotee Records, with her holiday album, Christmas Like This, giving her another Dove nomination. In 2010, Woods left Gotee Records when she got married and started her family. She was pregnant with her second child when she started recording her second independent album in 2014, It's Time, on her independent label Original Peace Music Group. This was followed by The Runway Project in 2017.
