The upcoming dark sports drama, Foxcatcher, from Bennett Miller has released their latest trailer which you can watch above. The movie starring Channing Tatum, Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo is based on the true story of Olympic Wrestling Champion Mark Schultz.
The film was shown over the weekend at 2014 Telluride Film Festival in Telluride, CO. When it was shown in earlier this Summer at May's 2014 Cannes Film Festival it was received with strong critical reception putting Carell on the short list of contenders for a Best Actor Academy Award.
Foxcatcher with Steve Carell and Mark You can watch the trailer above, where Tatum smashes his head into a mirror.
Plot: Mark Schultz (Tatum), despite having won a gold medal for wrestling at the 1984 Olympics, lives in the shadow of his accomplished older brother, Dave (Ruffalo). Mark seems to have found his own path when multimillionaire John E. du Pont (Carell) invites Mark to train as part of a national U.S. wrestling team preparing for the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. Du Pont's training is relentless and his philosophy strident, but Mark wants to please him nonetheless. But when Dave arrives to much fanfare to join Team Foxcatcher, Mark finds himself relegated to the shadows once again, while DuPont begins to unravel. Based on a true story.
Foxcatcher also stars Vanessa Redgrave and Sienna Miller and was directed by Bennett Miller. The film is set to hit theaters on November 14th.
Just wanting to see Steve Carell in a serious role could make the movie enough for many people, including myself, one to check out when it hits the theaters.
