GTA 5: Rockstar's Gem and guaranteed fun for you
Rockstar, the company behind the Grand Theft Auto series has seen great success since they started the game series a couple of years back. They created a huge hit with the launch of the Grand Theft Auto Five (GTA 5) back in 2014 and did not disappoint their fans.
Modelled in an open world, the setting of the game has always given players freedom of motion around fascinatingly accurate replicas of iconic US cities. The story follows character doing heist missions and managing heat from government agents. Gameplay involves foot missions, gunfights, vehicle controlling missions and conversation handling that generally directs game flow.
Released on the then high-end generation consoles, players on the X-Box 360 and the PlayStation 3 reviewed the game to be of the highest quality that they had experienced. This meant considering graphics, story plot, gameplay response and well - fun factor. Other critics claimed the game to be containing gratuitous violence.
Sales of the game blew the producers' expectations as it sold over US$ 800 million worth of copies in the first twenty four hours of release; and it is still the most sold entertainment content till date with a string of seven Guinness World Records acclaim to its name. It scooped multiple awards in the gaming genre with even its in-game characters claiming real life equivalent awards on depicting scripts and gameplay portrayal.
Much of this success did not protect the game from negative feedback, many players and publications have repeatedly accused the game of being too graphic, or detailed in as far as depicting of violence is concerned. One such scene under the microscope would be the use of water boarding technique in interrogation missions such as one dubbed "by the book". Other accusations include sexism where feminists have shown their anger on how the designers took to the image of women within the game.
All this external/ real life response proved to be great publicity for the game as it never one shook the great streak that Rockstar was on in attaining high sales and great game reviews from the majority of established gamers worldwide. GTA 5 celebrates first year anniversary in a few months and has been a great game since day one.
