Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro Rumors: iPad Pro Could Go Into Production in the Second Quarter of 2015
Apple is said to be working on a bigger, 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which is expected to see the light of the day next year. We've heard about the oversized device a number of times in the past, but according to a strange new rumor Apple could launch a bigger 12.9-inch iPad, unofficially dubbed the "iPad Pro," could feature a new operating system that would be a combination of the company's OS X and iOS.
Apple is expected to hold a press event on Oct. 16 when the company is expected to introduce the upgraded iPad line up, and we may get to see the 12.9-inch iPad at the event.
Apple has integrated iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, to a certain extent, with the Continuity features such as Handoff. Users can start their task on one device (iOS) and complete it on the second one, or vice versa. Additionally, users also get the ability to check their messages on their Mac or iPad, or answer calls they receive on their iPhone on the Mac. So, there's a possibility that we may get to see this feature expand, allowing users to run multiple operating systems on the upcoming iPad. There is another new rumour that the iPad Pro will feature an A8X processor - a high-performance version of the chip in the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and (presumably) iPad 6. We also weigh up speculation that the iPad Pro will come with 2K and 4K screen resolution options.
Talks of Apple converging its operating systems isn't really new, with earlier reports claiming that the company is working on an operating system which will allow iOS devices to connect to a secondary display docked for fuller computer experience. Apple executives Phil Schiller and Craig Federighi however squashed such possibility by stating this as a "non-goal" for the company.
Last month, Taiwan's Commercial Times reported that the so-called iPad Pro could go into production in the second quarter of 2015 and could be launched soon after that.
