Windows Phone 8.1 Latest News: Microsoft's Latest OS Update Shows Good Stats this October, Popular Productivity App "Wunderlist" is now Available for Windows Phone 8.1 Users
The first latest news for the Windows Phone 8.1 is that its usage statistics for October is showing good progress. The app advertising agency AdDuplex released their Windows Phone statistics. It showed that Windows Phone 8.1 OS has surpassed its previous Windows Phone 8, reaching 46.7 percent this month from the 39.1 percent in September. One of the reasons for the rise in numbers is that Microsoft released their latest Windows Phone 8.1 globally.
The second latest news for the latest mobile OS is that the popular task management app Wunderlist is now available for Windows Phone 8.1 users. It's one of the most highly regarded productivity app for the smartphone users today. The Wunderlist is known to provide a simple yet quick and effective to-do list, while boasting its polished and intuitive UI. You can also share your to-do list using this smart app.
For those who haven't updated to Windows Phone 8.1 yet, here is what you need to know about Microsoft's latest OS update. Windows Phone 8.1 is one of the biggest and major updates to date. It comes with a massive set of new features, including Cortana - Microsoft's new digital assistant, while keeping the core design of Microsoft intact.
Among other things, the update introduces the "Live Folders", in which users can create folders on the Start screen. The update also comes with a New People Hub redesign with smaller fonts. The Phone History indicates repeat calls from a user with # representing the number of repeats. Time on the lock screen comes with a larger font, and moves down the screen display when there are notifications. Charging notification alert has a shorter, less annoying sound. Freshly installed apps will say "NEW" under their tiles in the App list. Games can now be installed under the App list in addition to the Games Hub, and the Games Hub removes SmartGlass linking and adds new Friends and Messages icons. The recent OS update brings better signal, data connection, Wi-Fi, and battery.
