Gospel Music Artist Darrell Brown Releases "Let Your Glory Reign"
Singer, songwriter, pastor and worship leader Darrell Brown has just released his new album Let Your Glory Reign. The album is preceded by the powerful new single "Because You're Worthy," a song that is impacting Christian radio and churches.
In an intrview with The Top Tea, Brown says of his new song: "Honestly this song was birthed at church. We were doing Praise & Worship and that's when I got the vamp. It was just me and my sister. We happened to be the only praise team members there on that particular Sunday.
The song just flowed out me, "I give you the glory, I give you the honor, I give you the praise, because You're worthy." It wasn't until months later that I went back and wrote the rest. Many of my songs are birthed out of worship at church. Then I'll go back later and put it together. That was one of those moments."
Brown spent the early part of his life in the Bronx, New York, where he was born to Evangelist Debora Chavis and Edward Brown. As a long-time worship leader Darrell has developed his gifts as a songwriter, producer and psalmist to become a nationally recognized musician.
Music is not the only way this creative Minister, ministers the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In addition to being a musician, Darrell is an ordained minister of the Gospel and has been licensed to preach since February 2011.Darrell currently serves as the Minister of Music at Word of Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Dumfries, Virginia under the direction of Apostle Duane I. Coats, Sr., and Pastor Jeanette Y. Coats. He also serves as Assistant Musical Director of the world-renowned Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University, where he graduated in 2012 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education.
In thinking about his musical success thus far, Darrell says, "My goal as a worship leader is to impress upon people the importance of praise and worship and to lead them into a place they often do not get to experience."
