Grammy Winners 2016 for Christian and Gospel Music

The 58th Grammy Anniversary Awards is music's most exciting night.  Hosted by rapper LL Cool J, the awards ceremony is held at Los Angeles' Staples Center. But before the show even started, awards were handed out in numerous categories, including those honoring Christian and Gospel music.

Francesca Battistelli wins Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song with "Holy Spirit"

Israel & NewBreed wins Best Gospel Album for Covered: Alive In Asia [Live] 
Nominees included: Karen Clark Sheard's Destined To Win [Live] / Dorinda Clark-Cole's Living It / Tasha Cobbs' One Place Live / Jonathan McReynolds' Life Music: Stage Two 

Kirk Franklin wins Best Gospel Performance/Song with "Wanna Be Happy?"

Nominees included: Anthony Brown & Group Therapy's "Worth [Live]" / Travis Greene's "Intentional" / Israel & NewBreed Featuring Yolanda Adams' "How Awesome Is Our God [Live]" / Brian Courtney Wilson's "Worth Fighting For [Live]"
