“America United” Singer-Songwriter DeDe Wedekind Wins Album of the Year at IMEA Awards
On Saturday, October 8th, singer-songwriter DeDe Wedekind took home her 3rd consecutive IMEA Award for "Adult Contemporary Album of the Year," this time for her latest album Dream Of You (Feb. 2016). The IMEA Awards (International Music and Entertainment Association) were held at the Tucker Theatre at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN, just outside of Nashville.
In recent weeks, Wedekind has been receiving a tremendous amount of attention for her patriotic new single release, "America United." Like many Americans, Wedekind noticed that our country seems to be even more divided than ever. So she did what songwriters do and the result is her new single - a song that she hopes will help heal the divisions in our great nation.
The message of the song is simple. "It's about returning our country to peace, strength, safety, prosperity and greatness, by uniting all Americans," says DeDe, "It's my sincere hope that this song will help spark a movement to reunite all Americans at this crucial time in our history when there are so many racial, socioeconomic, religious and other divisions in our country."
Wedekind has been making the media rounds, with appearances on Bill Martinez Live, For the People with Keith Alan, The Marybeth Conley Show, Kingdom News, The Larry Stevenson Show, The Long Version, UP Radio and more. She's also scheduled to appear on Good Morning Arkansas on on October 18th, airing on KATV-TV (Little Rock's ABC Affiliate).
In addition to her IMEA Awards win, Wedekind was recently named Indie Music Channel's 2016 "Best New Female Artist of the Year."
"American United" and Dream Of You are available now at iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music and wherever digital music is sold.
