Rookie Blue Season 5 ABC Episode Spoilers Episode 3 'Wanting', Cast News (VIDEO)
"Rookie Blue" Season 5 premiered in the U.S. on June 19th and now that the new season is a couple episodes in, fans are wanting to know what happens next. A couple key cast additions have been made this season including Oliver Becker as Inspector John Jarvis and Matt Murray as Rookie Duncan Moore.
"Duncan is a real professional antagonist for Andy McNally this first half of the season," executive producer Tassie Cameron shares with TVLine. "He's a well-connected young man. So it's going to really prove challenging for Andy. We're finally allowing ourselves to take a look at some politics of the force - old guard versus new guard. Obviously, our main characters are the new guard of policing. We're interested in the friction between the very, very old school institution and the young, fresh faces with idealism and a new way of doing things and how those two types of policing can come in conflict with each other."
Andy has been well respected in her line of work and Duncan, the police commissioner's stepson, will leave her deciding if she actually wants remain on the force by the end of the season. This happens all the time in real-life work situations and police officers can relate, so fans should be able to relate and connect with this story line.
"Rookie Blue" is originally Canadian drama but is not popular in the U.S. Season 5 is 22 episodes long and premiered in Canada on May 19, a month ahead of the U.S. premiere on June 19, 2014.
Catch the next episode (No. 4 "wanting") of Season 5 "Rookie Blue" on Thursday night, July 3rd on ABC at 10/9 Cst.
