Falling Skies Season 4: Ben, Hal and Maggie Love Triangle; Lexi has to Make a Choice Between the Humans and the Espheni

Falling Skies season 4 premiered on June 22nd on TNT. The show is based upon a post apocalyptic future that involves the earth being taken over by aliens. However, there are elements of resistance and the show focuses on a group of militants and their personal struggles as well as their war against the occupying alien forces. The last season left a growing love triangle between the brothers; Hal and Ben over Maggie. Usually Hal is the one that gets the girl but this time, we will see something different.

It will not be outright but gradually, Hal is going to be pushed away and enter Ben. It is funny because Hal is not the friend-zone type and this is not his first girlfriend. Interestingly enough, that would be the second time that Ben has had a thing for one of Hal's interest; remember Rachel. He liked her and then she turned into an Espheni overlord; apparently this is common in Falling Skies.

This fourth season installment is set to focus on a different aspect of the Espheni. In an interview, actor Connor Jessup who plays 'Ben' stated that 'we will see the Espheni as characters rather than the overlords.' There is one example of the Espheni in the series known as the Monk. He is illustrated as cold, calculating and ruthless, however, this sentient aspect of them also gives a view to their motives of the planet and it will make everyone question what they thought they knew about them in the first place. Lexi, Tom Mason's daughter is apparently the bridge between the human's and the Espheni but this has left her vulnerable to alien influence and she may find herself reaching the point of no return. She will have to make a choice between the side of the humans and the Espheni. This is interesting as her reasoning is not fully developed and some would describe her as a child in a full grown body. The show airs at 10p.m Eastern time, on T.N.T.
