To all fans of this police procedural television program we have great news for you as CBS have announced its renewal for a tenth season that is set to premier on October 1st 2014.

Now it has been quite a journey for this drama series since its first premier on September 22nd 2005. The series is based on a team of profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) that help in solving criminal cases by analyzing what a criminal would do and their motives to do the crime. It has been quite interesting over the years with the series gathering fans not only in the country but also all over the world. It is with no doubt that, that's why CBS have continued renewing it over the years with one season after the other.

The good thing about the show is the fact that every episode differs from the previous one with each episode focusing on profiling different criminals. What also made it interesting is the fact that the criminals have always been the main subject rather than the crime itself. This has made people watch it keenly as they try to understand the motives of the criminals and also their thinking who are referred to as "unsub" or the UNknown SUBject.

CBS announced pick-ups for 18 series for the next season. It has renewed 20 returning series for the 2014 to 2015 season.

Nina Tassler chairman of CBS said "The best way to launch new shows in the fall and throughout the season is to surround them with a strong and stable lineup of successful series."

The 18 series renewed comprise 15.5 hours of CBS's weekly primetime schedule that include two new programs, two reality series, five comedies, and nine dramas. You will be delighted to know that Criminal Minds is among the nine drama series.

It is rumored that Jennifer Love Hewitt will be joining the show this coming season and might get a regular role for that matter. So, for those who love this lovely actress well, you might get to see her do what she knows best on your favorite TV drama. According to TVLine she is meant to play Kate Callahan a seasoned undercover agent whose stellar work at the FBI has landed her a wanted position with the BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit)

We can wait to see what the new season will offer. We hope it gets better than its previous season.
