Stars Go Dim and Garrett Hornbuckle to Lead Worship at New Mexico's Biggest Sunrise Service

Calvary Church

Calvary Church announces New Mexico's biggest sunrise service and favorite Easter tradition is Sunday, April 9, at 7 am at UNM Stadium. The community-wide church service is open to everyone and is free to attend.

"The Heist" is the theme for Easter sunrise service, and attendees can expect a creative multimedia interpretation of the resurrection, plus heartfelt worship with guest artists Stars Go Dim and Garrett Hornbuckle alongside Calvary Worship. Skip Heitzig, Senior Pastor at Calvary Church, will share a compelling message of hope. Spanish translation and deaf interpretation will be available.

Executive Pastor Nate Heitzig notes, "Everyone loves a good heist story, from the planning and players to the tech and twists. Well, the greatest heist in history was when Jesus robbed the grave and defeated sin and death by His resurrection."

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Stars Go Dim has garnered multiple international #1 singles and top 5 hits at pop and Christian radio, including the massive US radio smash "You Are Loved." Worship leader Garrett Hornbuckle transformed his Billboard-charting music career into full-time ministry helping local churches bring their worship experience to the next level while challenging people to connect with God on a more intimate level.

Additional Easter services will be held at the Osuna campus at 9 and 11 am. Kids in 5th grade and under can enjoy bounce houses, collect candy and Easter eggs, and see a hot air balloon flyover appearance by the Easter Bunny during the 9 am service and again at 12:30 pm in the greenbelt. Additional Easter services will be held at the Westside and Santa Fe campuses; visit calvarynm.church/events for service times and locations.

Easter sunrise service will livestream with live pastoral and prayer support on live.calvarynm.church, on YouTube, and Facebook Live on Sunday, April 9, at 7 am. A prerecorded Easter service with the same content will broadcast online at 9 and 11 am, and on Friday, April 7, at noon on KRQE and at 6 pm on FOX New Mexico, on Saturday, April 8, at 9 pm on Fox New Mexico, and on Sunday, April 9 at 10 am on FOX New Mexico.

Ahead of Easter Sunday, Calvary Church is hosting two Good Friday services on April 7 at their Osuna campus. The outdoor service at noon on Good Friday is a beloved annual tradition that includes worship, Communion, and a brief message from Pastor Skip Heitzig. This year the church is adding a service at 6:30 pm for those who cannot attend at noon due to daytime commitments. Vitalant will be on site for a blood drive from 8 am to 3 pm and from 4:30 to7:30 pm; sign up at calvarynm.church/events. The blood drive is also part of the church's annual Good Friday tradition.

Calvary Church is a non-denominational Christian church founded in 1982 by Skip Heitzig with three campuses in New Mexico. Calvary Church Albuquerque is located at 4001 Osuna Road NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico with services every Wednesday and Saturday at 6:30 pm and Sunday morning at 9 and 11 am. All regularly scheduled services livestream with live pastoral and prayer support at live.calvarynm.church, on YouTube, and Facebook Live.
