Award-winning gospel artist and senior pastor Marvin Sapp is officially engaged. After 16 years as a widower, Bishop Sapp has found love again and is preparing for a new chapter alongside Dr. La'Boris Cole.
According to family and close sources, the engagement was celebrated during a surprise gathering planned by Sapp's children. Once the couple arrived, Bishop Sapp ceremoniously got down on one knee and asked Dr. Cole to be his wife, marking an emotional and joy-filled milestone for the family.
Sapp was previously married to Dr. MaLinda Prince Sapp, who passed away in 2010 after a battle with colon cancer. Together they share three children - Madisson, Mikaila, and Marvin Jr. Over the years, Sapp has openly spoken about faith, perseverance, and God's sustaining grace through grief. Now, more than a decade later, he steps into a renewed season of joy and companionship.
Dr. La'Boris Cole is a respected clinician and ministry leader. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Born 2 Danz Worship Arts Conference and serves as Founder and CEO of Cole Associates & Counselors of Texas, a multi-site behavioral health practice. She holds a doctorate in Clinical Counseling and is known for her work in worship arts, leadership development, and mental health advocacy.
Bishop Sapp, widely recognized for gospel classics such as "Never Would Have Made It" and "The Best in Me," continues to serve as senior pastor of The Chosen Vessel Church in Fort Worth while maintaining a distinguished music career spanning decades.
No wedding date has been announced.
Friends, family, and supporters across the gospel community are celebrating the couple's engagement and the promise of this new beginning
