New "Silent Hill" Game Announced: "Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus Portrays Protagonist
Horror video game fans have more reason to rejoice as Silent Hill will gain grace the new generation of gaming consoles. "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus (who plays Daryl Dixon in the AMC Zombie Drama), a fan-favorite of the series, will lend his voice and likeness to the new video game. Norman Reedus isn't the first A-list celebrity to get a role in a big time video game franchise; Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey stars in the latest entry of the Call of Duty franchise, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare."
Guillermo del Torro, director of the Blade trilogy and Pan's Labyrinth, teams up with video game guru Hideo Kojima of Metal Gear fame. The game will run on Kojima's FOX Engine, the same game engine that runs Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pain and will be released by Konami. No plot details have been given for the game. The new installment of the video game franchise was announced by Sony on Tuesday at the Gamescom Conference in Cologne, Germany. The announcement however was given a somewhat unlikely approach, making a teaser available on the PlayStation Store under the name "P.T." The teaser shows a man walking down a street, and as he turns to the camera we see Norman Reedus' character. Then, the Silent Hill logo appears then the letter "s" appears at the end, announcing the new entry to the franchise as "Silent Hills."
