Judah Avenue makes his official debut with "What A Friend," a modern Christian pop single released through WieRise Music. The song blends bright, accessible production with a deeply personal message, capturing Judah's journey from growing up around faith to genuinely owning it for himself.
Centered on the idea of Jesus not just as Savior but as a present and faithful friend, the track reflects a pivotal turning point in Judah's life-moving from inherited belief to a lived, daily relationship with God. Honest verses about struggle and searching give way to a chorus of gratitude, turning his personal testimony into a shared anthem of faith.
As his first release, "What A Friend" introduces Judah Avenue as an emerging voice in Christian pop-one marked by authenticity, vulnerability, and a clear desire to create music that connects emotionally while pointing listeners toward a deeper spiritual reality.
Q: Judah, for those just discovering you-how would you describe who you are as an artist and the journey that brought you to this debut moment?
A younger artist with a very positive mindset-I want my music to be able to be an encouragement to people, and remind them that they are never alone. There's an amazing team here to help guide me as a young artist, I am very new to the music industry and am excited to see where God takes all of this!
Q: "What A Friend" captures a very personal turning point-what specifically led you to move from growing up around faith to truly owning it for yourself?
It seems I've always identified as a Christian, but it was mostly based on what I learned or what the facts say about Jesus-I never felt like I had a real personal connection with Him. Then I experienced being truly alone for the first time after I graduated high school and moved to Nashville. It was when I finally felt a true sense of being on my own was when I began talking to God and reading the Bible, like, all the time! That changed my view on our relationship. To that point, my faith had been nothing more than memory verses and head knowledge, but He spoke to me and it has grown into much more than I ever thought it could be. I found that I can be close to Him like a best friend, which led me to write my debut single "What A Friend."
Q: You've spent years performing in high-energy environments-how did it feel stepping into something this personal and vulnerable for your first release?
It felt like I was able to express my feelings on a much deeper level, which is actually a very freeing feeling. I think I have always been a pretty open person, so whenever I write music I like to make it as personal and relatable as possible.
Q: The song carries the idea of moving from religion to relationship-how has that shift changed the way you live and create?
It has changed everything! The way I see the world, the way I see people ... The way I act. Jesus is my number one, so having Him on my side literally changes the game!
Q: Sonically, your music sits alongside artists like Forrest Frank, Hulvey, and Josiah Queen-how have these influences shaped your sound while still keeping it authentic to you?
Ironically, I wasn't listening to them at the time I was writing "What A Friend"-I just wanted to make a fun summer song. But now I see how the final product can definitely draw inspiration from those artists, which is an honor to be mentioned alongside them-they are amazing!
Q: As you look ahead, how does "What A Friend" shape the direction of your future songs and the message you want to keep sharing?
I think "What A Friend" is a great introduction. It's a very easy song for anyone to vibe with. As I look to the future I am excited to write more songs with the same fun summer theme, while telling a new story how Jesus is shaping my life.
