Today is Mother's Day. For Savannah Guthrie, Annie Guthrie, and their brother Camron, it is the most difficult one of their lives.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills suburb of Tucson, Arizona on February 1, 2026. She has not been seen since. Today marks nearly 100 days.
No specific suspects have been publicly named, identified, or charged. The FBI is analyzing mixed DNA recovered from Nancy's home, including a hair sample. A combined reward of $1.2 million is being offered for information leading to her recovery.
Nancy was last seen around 9:45 p.m. on January 31, dropped off at her Tucson home after having dinner with her daughter Annie Guthrie, who lives nearby. She was reported missing the following morning after failing to show up to watch an online church service with a friend.
That detail says everything about who Nancy Guthrie is. A Sunday morning church service she never missed. A woman of faith, living alone, mentally sharp and fiercely independent - taken without warning, without explanation, without justice so far.
Neighbors placed a Mother's Day message outside her Tucson home, addressed directly to her abductor. The sign read: "Your mom would be ashamed if she knew what you did. So before you take her flowers on Mother's Day, TAKE NANCY HOME, or tell the family where she is."
Savannah told Hoda Kotb in a March interview: "We are in agony. It is unbearable. I wake up every night in the middle of the night - and in the darkness, I imagine her terror. And it is unthinkable, but those thoughts demand to be thought." Still, she added: "I still have hope. And I'm still me."
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said Friday that investigators are making progress and are moving closer to solving the case. For a family spending Mother's Day without their mother, closer is not yet enough.
For those who believe in the power of prayer - please pray for Nancy Guthrie today. Pray for Savannah, Annie, and Camron. Pray that whoever knows something finds the courage to speak.
