Fast-rising Christian artist Josiah Queen has earned his first No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart with "Demons," marking another major milestone in the young singer-songwriter's breakout career.

The track climbed three spots to take the top position on the May 23 chart after generating 3.1 million official U.S. streams, 23.9 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 1,000 sales during the May 8-14 tracking week, according to Billboard and Luminate.

Written by Queen alongside John Michael Howell, Zac "ZVC" Lawson, and Dylan Thomas, "Demons" becomes the Tampa, Florida native's biggest chart achievement yet on the influential Christian music ranking. The song is one of six top 10 hits among Queen's growing list of 27 career entries on the chart since first appearing in 2023 with "I Am Barabbas."

Queen's rapid rise has positioned him as one of Christian music's most prominent young artists in the streaming era. His breakout single "The Prodigal" became a defining moment in 2023, peaking at No. 4 and remaining on the chart for an entire year. Since then, he has continued building momentum with hits including "Can't Steal My Joy" alongside Brandon Lake, "Dusty Bibles," and "Jesus Is Coming Back Soon" with Forrest Frank.

The success of "Demons" further highlights how Queen has become part of a new generation of Christian artists whose careers have been accelerated through streaming platforms, TikTok, social media engagement, and crossover radio exposure. While many emerging acts struggle to transition from viral success to sustained chart presence, Queen has consistently maintained momentum across multiple singles and projects.

His impact has also extended to Christian radio. "Can't Steal My Joy" previously topped the Christian Airplay chart, while "Dusty Bibles" reached the Hot Christian Songs top 10 before later climbing into the Christian Airplay top 10 as well.

Beyond singles, Queen's albums have also resonated strongly with listeners. Both 2024's The Prodigal and 2025's Mt. Zion debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart, with the two releases spending a combined 141 weeks on the tally.

The latest achievement solidifies Josiah Queen's place among Christian music's fastest-growing voices, blending folk-rock influences, deeply personal faith themes, and a social media-driven connection with younger audiences that continues to translate into major chart success.
