We recently sat down with The Craguns to discuss the heart behind Steadfast Love, their passion for ministry, and the message they hope listeners will carry with them long after the music ends.
Q: For readers meeting The Craguns for the first time, how would you describe your identity as a musical family and the heart behind your ministry together?
The Craguns are a family vocal band. Our musical identity revolves around warm, smooth harmony. The Craguns exist to glorify God, edify the believer and spread the Gospel through music that points people to our wonderful, loving Savior.
Q: Steadfast Love showcases strong songwriting and rich harmonies. What themes or messages did you hope to highlight most clearly through this album?
The theme of this new album is wrapped up quite well in the title. There is a strong theme of God's faithfulness, the refuge we find in Him and His never-failing, steadfast love toward Hischildren. We honestly feel like the lyrics are the strongest aspect of this album. We are so thankful for the incredible writers that contributed.
Q: Songs like "Faithful" and "My Faith Still Holds" blend tenderness with powerful worship moments. How did you decide on the musical flow and emotional arc of the record?
This was particularly challenging with this album, because we felt there were so many different ways the song order could potentially flow. So, we set up multiple playlists on a computer with different song arrangements, and we listened through over and over until we settled on the one that felt best to us.
Q: As a family group whose music emphasizes faith and encouragement, what do you hope listeners take away spiritually after hearing Steadfast Love?
We hope people are reminded that God is faithful. He is our refuge in every situation and no matter what is happening in our world or in our lives, NOTHING can separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus. His "Steadfast Love" will always remain through every season.
