The Afters are back with a message the world needs right now - and they have more than two decades of lived faith to back it up.

The veteran Christian rock band released "It's Gonna Get Better" on New Music Friday, June 27, and the response was immediate. The GMA Dove Awards spotlighted the track the same day, calling it out in their New Music Friday roundup alongside fresh releases from Leanna Crawford, Switchfoot, and others.

"Our new song 'It's Gonna Get Better' is available now wherever you listen to music!" the band announced on social media - using the hashtags that have always followed them: #christianmusic #christianrock #theafters.

For a band with this track record, those words carry real weight.

The Afters have released six albums with hit singles including "Light Up The Sky," "Well Done," and "Moments Like This." They have toured extensively with the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, accumulated more than 1 billion career streams, and scored nine singles in the top 15 at CCM radio - including six No. 1s. They have also earned multiple GMA Dove Awards.

The band has always written from lived experience. Lead singer Josh Havens has explained: "Through all the years that we've toured as a band, we've heard people share their stories of brokenness and loss. I believe that God isn't afraid of our questions. Our loss, our hurt, the hard things we go through - those things are precious to God."

"It's Gonna Get Better" is exactly the kind of song The Afters do best - an honest, hope-filled anthem for anyone who has found themselves in a season that feels like it might not turn around. The Starbucks employees turned Christian rock veterans have spent twenty years proving that it does.

"It's Gonna Get Better" is available now on all major streaming platforms.
