Aaron Rodgers is crediting his wife, Brittani, with helping heal a family rift that lasted more than a decade, opening up about the emotional reunion during a recent NFL Network interview.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback reconnected last month with his parents, Ed and Darla Rodgers, and his older brother, Luke, after years of public estrangement. "I'm happy to be reunited, and that part of my life is a really beautiful addition," Rodgers told NFL Network's Kyle Brandt. "And I've got to give my wife a lot of credit for - not that she was pushing me, because she never was, but just the way that she loves and supports me. Having her by my side during this process has been really special."
Rodgers said marrying Brittani and the conversations that followed opened him up "to the possibility of coming together" with his family again. The two wed privately in 2025 and have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye.
The estrangement dated back years, with Rodgers previously explaining that fame had complicated his family relationships. "When I became real famous, family members said, 'Your life is too big. We need you to be smaller,'" he said in a 2024 Netflix docuseries, adding that the distance "always hurt me."
Now, Rodgers says the reunion - which included spending time with his brother's children - has been one of several "full-circle" moments in his life this past year. He described a recent long weekend with his parents, brother, and nieces and nephews in Nashville, saying it gave him the chance to "be an uncle." He declined to detail the original cause of the falling-out, saying simply that he's "thankful that that's come all the way back around."
