Raised in a creative household by a father who toured internationally as a DJ, Judah had music in his blood, but Nashville helped him discover something deeper: his own artistic voice and a growing relationship with Jesus.

Built around the exhaustion of trying to carry life's burdens alone, the song finds Judah candidly confronting self-doubt, frustration, and the feeling of continually taking "one step forward and two steps back." Yet rather than offering an easy answer, "Letting Go" points toward surrender-releasing the pressure to have everything figured out and trusting God with what comes next.
In this exclusive interview, Judah Avenue opens up about moving to Nashville as a teenager, finding his identity as an artist, learning from performing alongside Sean Rodriguez, and why his faith has become central to the music he wants to make. Q: You grew up in a musical family and eventually took the leap to move to Nashville at just 18. How has that journey shaped you both as an artist and as a person?
When I moved to Nashville It was scary because a lot of my friends were going to College. Once I took the leap of faith I found out that it was the best decision I could have made. I learned a lot about who I am as a person, I grew in my faith, and it helped grow my relationship with Jesus! As an artist it has pushed me to work as hard as I can and it allowed me to connect with some of the greatest people I've ever met! I came to the realization that If I am taking this risk I better give it my all!
Q: Your new single, "Letting Go," honestly captures the struggle of feeling stuck and carrying more than you were meant to. What inspired you to write this song, and how personal is its message?
Letting Go came from a really honest place. In my life I've felt like I can get overwhelmed with thoughts of self doubt, and feel like I'm carrying these thoughts alone. I wanted to write this song for people who feel like they are carrying the weight by themselves. Letting Go is about coming to God and with the burdens and self doubt, letting go and allowing God to take control!
Q: One of the most relatable lines is, "I'm the king of one step forward and taking two steps back." Why did you want to be so transparent about those moments of frustration and self-doubt?
I love that line because I know I'm not the only one who can feel like the second I start to make progress, in anything. Many times we actually digress and things get worse than they were before. I wanted to talk about that feeling of being stuck in a cycle of digression.
Q: You've had opportunities to perform alongside artists like Sean Rodriguez and have been immersed in Nashville's songwriting community. How have those experiences influenced your sound and your approach to creating music?
Working with all these amazing people has challenged me as an artist and has taught me a lot. Being surrounded by these people at such a high level has pushed me to rise to the occasion and find my own sound. Sean's performance has challenged me in many ways. He always talks about having purpose in every move on stage. Performing with Sean has taught me that a well designed set makes a massive impact! The community has really influenced me to focus on the message in the song and not just the sound.
Q: At the heart of "Letting Go" is the decision to surrender control instead of striving for perfection. How has your faith helped you embrace vulnerability and trust God through life's uncertainties?
This year has been a big year of trusting the process. My faith has really pushed me to trust God and his plan for my life.
Q: As "Letting Go" introduces listeners to this new chapter, what can fans look forward to next? Are there more singles, an EP, or live performances on the horizon?
Right now I'm really focusing on building a fan base so I'm working a lot on dropping singles for now. The next single that's dropping is called The Way that I See Him and it's about finding your identity in God. It's an encouraging anthem about how our Father always has a better way for us!
