Just when it seemed Josiah Queen couldn't possibly move any faster, Christian music's folk-pop phenomenon is already beginning his next era.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter has announced his third studio album, Damascus Road, arriving October 23, 2026. Pre-orders and pre-saves open August 14, the same day Queen releases the album's newly teased single, "sundays."
And yes, you read that correctly: a third album already.
Queen released his breakthrough debut, The Prodigal, in 2024 and followed it with Mt. Zion in August 2025. Now, barely more than a year after Mt. Zion, he's preparing to unleash another full-length project.
The speed of Queen's ascent has been remarkable.
His official biography says his music has accumulated more than 1.3 billion combined global streams, while his breakthrough song "The Prodigal" has surpassed 200 million streams. Even more significantly, 2025's "Dusty Bibles" became Queen's first Billboard Hot 100 hit and earned a Gold certification less than six months after its release.
And Queen doesn't appear interested in taking a victory lap.
Instead, 2026 has been filled with new music. He kicked off the year with the darkly titled "demons" in January, followed it with "judas" in March and then delivered the evangelistic anthem "make heaven crowded" in May.
Now comes "sundays"-and the bigger revelation that those releases have been leading toward another album chapter.
Even the title Damascus Road feels considerably more dramatic than your average Christian album name.
The biblical reference immediately evokes Acts 9 and Saul's encounter with the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus, where the persecutor of Christians is dramatically confronted and ultimately transformed into the apostle Paul.
That makes Damascus Road a particularly intriguing title for Queen, whose songwriting has increasingly leaned into themes of sin, repentance, surrender and radical Christian discipleship.
Consider the progression of the recent song titles alone:
"demons." "judas." "make heaven crowded." "sundays." Damascus Road.
Queen certainly isn't being subtle about where he's taking listeners.
There's also been a little mystery surrounding the project.
Before the formal announcement, fans had already begun noticing "Damascus Road" clues, including a promotional experience featuring snippets of unreleased Queen material. Some listeners correctly began speculating that the phrase was pointing toward his next album before Queen finally made the news official.
The announcement arrives while Queen's career is operating at a level few independent-minded Christian singer-songwriters reach this quickly.
His debut album The Prodigal became a Christian chart-topper, while Mt. Zion continued his momentum. "Dusty Bibles" then pushed Queen beyond the traditional Christian marketplace by becoming his first Hot 100 hit.
Queen has also collaborated with some increasingly prominent names, including Brandon Lake, Benjamin William Hastings, Avery Anna and Forrest Frank, while maintaining the acoustic, folk-rock Christian identity that initially separated him from the heavily polished worship-pop dominating much of the genre.
And Damascus Road could potentially be the record that determines whether Queen's explosive rise is merely a spectacular Christian-music run-or the beginning of something much bigger.
For now, Queen isn't revealing everything.
A complete track listing, guest lineup and production credits for Damascus Road have yet to be publicly detailed in the announcement. But "sundays" gives fans their next piece of the puzzle on August 14.
One thing is already clear: Josiah Queen isn't taking his foot off the gas.
Three albums in roughly two-and-a-half years, more than a billion streams, a Billboard Hot 100 breakthrough and another major release already on the calendar?
Christian music may have found one of its most relentless new hitmakers.
