Nicole Kidman paid tribute to the late Dolly Parton on Tuesday with a photo that quickly caught fans' attention - not just for who was being honored, but for who appeared alongside her.
The Oscar-winning actress shared a throwback image on her Instagram story from the 2023 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala, where Parton had personally inducted Kidman's then-husband, country star Keith Urban. The photo showed Parton at the center, flanked by Kidman and Urban, with the couple's daughters, Sunday Rose, 18, and Faith Margaret, 15, standing on either side.
"We will always love you, Dolly," Kidman wrote over the image, with a heart emoji.
The moment stood out because Kidman filed for divorce from Urban in September 2025, ending nearly two decades of marriage. Despite that, the family came together - even if only in an old photograph - to honor a woman who had clearly meant something to all of them.
Urban shared his own tribute shortly before Kidman's post, writing over a black background, "Heartbroken today. Dolly Parton," followed by, "Honestly...... I have no words right now."
Parton, who died peacefully in Nashville on August 25 at age 80, spent decades mentoring and celebrating fellow artists in the country music community, and tributes like Kidman and Urban's reflect just how far that influence reached - even into the private lives of the stars she inducted, performed alongside, and befriended.
Parton's own faith was central to how she lived and gave, something she spoke about often - and it's fitting that even in grief, her legacy is drawing people back together rather than apart.
