Star Wars Episode 8 Release Date: Scheduled For Release in 2017, Rian Johnson To Write And Direct The Eighth Installment 

The Star Wars episodic saga, produced by the Disney is a popular American space opera that was first created by George Lucas. The Lucasfilm was later acquired by The Walt Disney Company, who restarted the Star Wars sequel trilogy. George Lucas has said before acquisition that the new trilogy sequel will not be produced. But, it was given high importance by Disney who initiated the production immediately after acquiring Lucasfilm in 2012.

The trilogy will consist three sequels VII to IX. The first installment from Disney of Star Wars VII has already started with its pre-production on October 30, 2012 and production in April 2014. This sequel is confirmed to be released in December 2015. The next sequel, that is VIII, will be released in 2017, sources said.

Rian Johnson will write the story and direct the VIII version, accompanied by Ram Bergman as a producer and will be co-supported by Kathleen Kennedy, said the spokesperson of Rian Johnson. On August 7, 2014, it was announced that Daisy Ridley who is playing a lead role in the version VII, will also continue the lead in versions VIII and IX. 

It is a matter of pride of Disney as the VII version will up for viewers after 30 years after the last saga of Returns of the Jedi. This episode is however directed J.J.Abrams with Lucas as creative assistants. Rian Johnson will direct episode VIII and write episode IX. Fans are surely going to be amazed with this trilogy with different directors on board, may have a different visualizations and creative ideas to challenge the imaginations.
