Kehlani has canceled two stops on her 2026 world tour after a health scare sent her to the hospital, just months after the R&B star publicly reconnected with her Christian faith.
The singer told fans on August 26 that she spent the night battling severe pain and difficulty swallowing. After being examined, she was told she was not cleared to sing, forcing the cancellation of her Camden, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.-area shows. Her team is working on rescheduling options, and the tour is expected to resume August 29 in Richmond, Virginia.
Kehlani said canceling was difficult, noting how much care she puts into protecting her health while on the road - a season that has otherwise been one of the busiest and most successful stretches of her career.
The health scare comes months after Kehlani made headlines for a different reason: her open return to faith. In October, she shared an Instagram video of herself singing Maverick City Music's "Promises," captioning it, "I'm grateful every day, waking up every day with my heart open... thank God!" Her Instagram bio now reads, "Living in answered prayer."
Kehlani was raised in a Christian household and was adopted by her aunt after her mother, who struggled with addiction, was incarcerated. She has spoken about reconnecting with church partly through watching her young daughter's faith. Maverick City Music itself responded to her worship post, writing simply, "Glory be to God."
