Prince Jackson doesn't do public appearances often. This weekend, he made an exception for his father.
The 29-year-old - Michael Jackson's eldest son - joined a crowd of fans in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 29, for a birthday celebration tied to Cirque du Soleil's "Michael Jackson ONE" show at Mandalay Bay. It would have been the King of Pop's 68th birthday. On the count of three, Prince raised his hand and shouted "Happy birthday, Michael!" alongside the crowd, then stayed to sign autographs and talk with fans.
The Vegas appearance is only the latest way Prince has marked his father's memory in 2026. In April, at the Los Angeles premiere of the "Michael" biopic, he wore a red armband cut from the same fabric as one of his father's signature red corduroy shirts - a piece designed by Michael's longtime costume designer, Michael Bush. "That was my childhood," Prince told ABC News. "Like if I hugged my father, that was what he was wearing."
Prince's sister, Paris Jackson, marked the same birthday her own way, releasing new music that included a previously unheard recording of their father's voice telling her, "Love you, Paris." Their younger brother, Bigi (formerly known as Blanket), has largely stayed out of the spotlight.
Michael Jackson died in 2009 at age 50. Nearly two decades later, tributes to him are still drawing crowds - from Las Vegas to Mexico City, where fans gathered this weekend in red-and-black "Thriller" outfits to dance to his music.
