Christian R&B and hip-hop artist Desi Raines has joined NRT Music and released his label debut, 1Note, an innovative musical project that weaves five interconnected movements into one continuous expression of worship, honesty, and surrender.
Originally from Atlanta and now based in Dallas, Raines brings years of songwriting, worship ministry, and touring experience to his solo career. His background includes writing and performing with North Point Worship and FRVR FREE, as well as touring as a background vocalist for Crowder.
With 1Note, Raines introduces a distinctive sound shaped by soulful melodies, personal storytelling, and a faith-centered approach to music.
1Note Blends Five Movements Into One Continuous Musical Experience
Created alongside producer Tyler Moody, 1Note began as a studio challenge inspired by Moody's 1,000th beat. The two set out to explore how many songs they could create using a single note, resulting in a continuous six-and-a-half-minute track.
Rather than presenting five separate songs, the project connects five musical movements into one uninterrupted experience. Each section explores a different aspect of Raines' relationship with God, touching on reverence, victory, vulnerability, surrender, and the decision to prioritize God's presence over personal recognition.
Raines describes the project as an EP presented in the form of a single song, encouraging listeners to experience the music as a complete work rather than consuming it one track at a time.
Inspired by the listening experience of vinyl records and cassette tapes, 1Note allows each movement to flow naturally into the next, creating a cohesive musical journey.
