Mark Consuelos let "Live with Kelly and Mark" viewers in on some health news Friday: he was heading straight into toe surgery right after the broadcast wrapped.
"Today's the day," Consuelos told his wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa, on the Sept. 25 episode. "I've been putting off this toe surgery for about a year." The 55-year-old explained the procedure addresses arthritis in his big toe - a condition that traces back to "turf toe," an injury he first developed playing soccer and discussed on the show back in 2024. He'd already had one related foot surgery since then.
Ripa, never one to let a moment go unteased, told the audience her husband was "basically" getting a pedicure. Consuelos pushed back immediately: "This is a major surgery. It's like a C-section for your toe." Ripa, who's had three actual C-sections, wasn't fully convinced - but she confirmed she'd be by his side afterward, joking that she already has footage from his last foot procedure to add to the collection.
Despite the joking, Consuelos was clear the pain was real: "It's bad. I need help. Yeah, it hurts." He's not expected to miss significant time off the show.
