Ricky Martin and Brazilian DJ Pedro Sampaio headlined the halftime show at the NFL Rio Game on Sunday, Sept. 27. They performed the live debut of their new single, "Pikito, Pikito," at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro during the Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens matchup.
According to Billboard, the song hit streaming platforms right after the performance. It blends pop, funk, samba, reggaeton, mambo and salsa. The title comes from the Spanish word "piquito," meaning a quick kiss, and Sampaio playfully gave Martin one on the cheek during the show.
The performance began on top of the bleachers and moved onto the field. Dancers joined in, including the Cowboys cheerleaders, with choreography by Parris Goebel, who has worked with Beyoncé, Rihanna and Lady Gaga. The routine also worked in the viral dance from Sampaio's "Vai no Cavalinho."
Some fans searching online have asked whether Martin is Brazilian. He isn't. Martin, 54, is Puerto Rican, and the NFL said he was excited to return to "one of my favorite places in the world." The show was one of a record seven halftime performances the league planned for its 2026 international games. Martin also made a guest appearance at the Super Bowl LX halftime show in February.
