Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Santa Claus, and Alan Ritchson is the thief he recruits to save Christmas, in Prime Video's The Man with the Bag, which premieres December 2, 2026.
Prime Video released the first teaser on September 30. It shows Schwarzenegger in a Santa beard declaring "I'm back!" and performing figure-skating tricks on an ice rink in front of Ritchson's character.
The story starts when Santa's magic gift bag is stolen by a rogue elf, played by Awkwafina. Santa turns to his "Naughty List" and recruits Vance (Ritchson), a former thief, who assembles a crew of misfits, with help from elves and reindeer, to pull off a Christmas-saving heist.
The cast also includes Ken Jeong, Jane Krakowski, Liza Koshy and Kyle Mooney. Adam Shankman (Hairspray) directs from a script by Allan Rice. The film is rated PG, runs 111 minutes, and goes straight to streaming rather than theaters.
It arrives 30 years after Schwarzenegger's Jingle All the Way.
Prime Video describes the film as a story about redemption, family and second chances, themes that sit close to the heart of the Christmas season.
The Santa legend itself traces back to St. Nicholas, a Christian bishop remembered for his generosity.
