Captain Smit Machchhar, the flydubai pilot praised for his role in the FZ1073 cockpit emergency, has been moved for further treatment. He was airlifted from Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, to Dubai for enhanced medical care. India's Embassy in the UAE said he is in good health and recovering well.

What we know about his recovery

Indian officials met his family in Dubai and assured them of continued support. Machchhar was first treated in Tabuk, where the Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight made an emergency landing on Sept. 30. flydubai confirmed all passengers were safe and accounted for.

What investigators are examining

flydubai says the reasons and motive remain under investigation, and the UAE Public Prosecution has opened a criminal inquiry examining possible terrorist intent, prior planning or outside direction. Reports allege his co-pilot attempted to crash the aircraft, but no motive has been established, and those claims remain allegations while the inquiry continues.

Prayers and tributes back home

In Mumbai, residents rallied outside his home calling for national honours, and Somnath Temple held a special prayer service for his recovery. The outpouring reflects how many people see his actions as an act of sacrificial courage, a theme Scripture honors in John 15:13.

For believers, it's a moment to pray for his full recovery, his family, and the passengers and crew who lived through the flight.
