The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of Chad Lowe's 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, a suicide, according to Fox News. Variety also reported that the medical examiner confirmed she died by suicide.
What the family has said
Fiona died Sept. 29 at a Los Angeles-area hospital. In their statement, Chad Lowe and Kim Painter called her "the light of our lives," and asked for prayers and privacy. They did not give a cause of death, but urged anyone struggling with mental health to call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Who is supporting them
A source told People that Rob Lowe and the wider family have rallied around Chad and Kim, saying everyone is heartbroken. Fiona is survived by her parents and her sisters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.
Her school community
Page Six reported that her middle school principal emailed families about a student's death and offered counselors to students and staff.
