Bruno Mars has released the music video for "Dance With Me," and Colombian star Karol G plays his love interest. The video came out Thursday, Oct. 1, and is the latest single from his fourth studio album, The Romantic.
The story is old-fashioned. Mars starts alone with an electric guitar, singing into a pay phone, while Karol G sulks in bed on the other end of the line. He then shows up outside her balcony with a full band and strings. She comes downstairs, jumps into his arms, and the video ends with fireworks. In one nod for fans, a photo of the two singers in the video matches the cover art of their earlier duet, "Still."
The release follows a playful moment last week. After Drake made a surprise appearance at Karol G's Houston show on Sept. 27, Mars jokingly said in a post that he had to get her back. The video appears to be his answer.
The song comes from The Romantic, which became Mars' first album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. "Still" appears on Karol G's album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto. The video was directed by Daniel Ramos.
Fans can see Mars live soon. He plays SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Oct. 2, 3, 6 and 7, with more tour dates ahead.
At its heart, "Dance With Me" is about devotion and showing up for the person you love, a theme that many couples in the faith community will relate to.
