Nancy Guthrie Update: Luke Daley Booked Into Jail, But Is There Any Link to Her Case?

Luke Daley's name is trending again in the Nancy Guthrie case after he was booked into a Pima County jail. But authorities have not tied the booking to her disappearance.

Daley, 37, was booked by the Pima County Sheriff's Department, and jail records list a bond of $22,500. The records do not list his charges. Investigators have not named him a suspect. Daley is the Tucson man who was briefly detained in February, when deputies and FBI agents served two search warrants at his home about two miles from Guthrie's.

The booking has fueled online speculation. Some social media users have posted side-by-side images comparing Daley to the masked figure nicknamed "porch guy," who was seen on surveillance footage outside Guthrie's home. Online investigator Jonathan Lee Riches has also pointed to similarities. None of this is confirmed, and officials have not said that Daley is the person in the footage.

Daley has denied any involvement. He has said that he is not the masked man and does not know who took Guthrie. His attorney said in February that Daley has no link whatsoever to the case and no information about her kidnapping.

Online guesses about who appears in surveillance images have led to harassment in other cases. Sheriff Chris Nanos has also criticized this kind of speculation as hurtful to the family.

Guthrie, 84, is the mother of "Today" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie. She was last seen at her Catalina Foothills home on Jan. 31, and the search is now in its eighth month. The family continues to ask for prayers. JubileeCast joins them in praying for Nancy's safe return and will keep following the story.
