Miranda Lambert released her new album Crisco on Oct. 2. It is a 12-song country-disco project with duets with Ella Langley and Chris Stapleton.
What is "Crisco"?
Lambert built the album with producer Jesse Frasure around the sound of countrypolitan and Studio 54. It is her first release with her new label, MCA.
Who's on it?
Langley joins Lambert on the opening track, "Snakeskin Boots." Stapleton sings with her on "A Song to Sing." Lambert also covers Jim Croce's "I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song."

What critics say
Rolling Stone says the record is not a stunt, and compares its bold step to Dolly Parton's 1978 album Heartbreaker.
Lambert co-wrote Langley's "Choosin' Texas," which just set a record 24 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100. She also has six CMA nominations. She says the album is full of joy and creative freedom.
