Canadian rock singer Sass Jordan has died at 63. Her family announced on social media that she passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, "surrounded by her loving family."

The statement said Jordan "peacefully crossed over to the other side" and called her "an inimitable force of nature" and "an irreplaceable being of light and joy."

Was a cause of death announced? No. Her family has not shared one. In September, her team canceled her remaining 2026 shows because of a "serious medical condition," which was not named, and said she needed to focus on her health and recovery.

Born in Birmingham, England, and raised in Montreal, Jordan broke through with her 1988 debut album, Tell Somebody. She won the 1989 Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist. Her 1992 album Racine, which included "Make You a Believer," made her an international name. Canadian TV audiences also knew her as a judge on all six seasons of Canadian Idol.

Over nearly four decades she shared stages with major rock acts and helped launch the early career of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Musicians who knew her have described her as warm, funny, and generous, and as a woman who helped open doors for others in a male-dominated genre.

Fans can honor her by revisiting songs like "Make You a Believer" and "High Road Easy," which still carry her powerful voice.

JubileeCast extends its prayers and sincere condolences to Jordan's family, friends, bandmates, and fans during this time of loss.
