Award-winning songwriter and recording artist Sẹlaine has released her new single, "Temperaments," to Christian radio, offering a message about finding stability in God when life and emotions feel uncertain.
Written by Sẹlaine and produced by Jo Deep, "Temperaments" explores how changing circumstances can affect our emotions while encouraging listeners to place their confidence in the unchanging nature of God.
Inspired in part by Ephesians 4:14, the song uses the imagery of waves to reflect the ways people can be influenced by circumstances, emotions, and unanswered questions. Sẹlaine wrote the song toward the end of the pandemic, drawing from a season when the unpredictability of life highlighted how easily external situations can affect our internal state.
Rather than allowing those circumstances to determine her faith, Sẹlaine says the song became an encouragement to herself and a reminder that God remains present through every experience.
Sẹlaine's international background also shapes her musical perspective. Born in Nigeria and now based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, she has lived in several countries, including Malaysia, Nigeria, Canada, and Oman. Her music draws from Christian hip-hop, folk, rock, and contemporary Christian music, while her songwriting remains grounded in biblical truth and emotionally honest storytelling.
With "Temperaments," Sẹlaine offers Christian radio listeners a timely reminder that while life can shift unexpectedly, God remains steady.
