Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey's family roster has officially grown-and their newest addition was already here before fans knew it. The model and San Francisco 49ers star announced on Saturday, October 10, that they welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Roman Augustus McCaffrey, on September 29. The reveal gave followers their first glimpse of the couple's life as a family of four, nearly two weeks after his arrival.
The announcement included intimate hospital photographs and a particularly sweet introduction between siblings. In one image, the couple's daughter, Colette, met her baby brother as he rested beside Culpo. McCaffrey also appeared in the hospital photographs, bringing a family focus to an announcement made during his busy football season.
Culpo's own reaction was brief but overflowing with emotion. Alongside the black-and-white images shared through the couple's joint Instagram post, she introduced their son by name, then added "Heart is exploding" on Instagram Stories. Another photograph showed her holding Roman in a garden with Colette standing nearby, capturing the transition from mother of one to mother of two.
The birth announcement also delivered a surprise the couple had saved for themselves. According to Page Six, Culpo and McCaffrey chose to wait until delivery to learn their second baby's sex, just as they had before Colette's arrival in July 2025. Their daughter now has a little brother, with the siblings born roughly 14 months apart.
Their second pregnancy became public in May, when Culpo celebrated her birthday with another major family milestone. The announcement featured a picnic with McCaffrey, Colette and their dog, Oliver, with sonogram images displayed on the blanket. Culpo called the news her "Best birthday gift," giving the family celebration an extra reason to remember the day.
Motherhood has also prompted Culpo to speak openly about changing priorities. She previously acknowledged that becoming a parent made balancing professional ambitions and family responsibilities feel daunting, while crediting McCaffrey's support as she continued working. Her reflections emphasized how strongly her daughter's needs shaped her decisions, even as she remained grateful for career opportunities.
Roman's arrival marks another milestone for a relationship that began in 2019. Culpo and McCaffrey became engaged in 2023 and married in June 2024, before welcoming Colette the following summer. Their latest announcement adds a son to that growing family story-and gives Colette a starring role of her own as the older sibling.
