The Legends of Gospel Vegas Residency has encountered an unexpected interruption just days after its launch. The Sunday, October 11 performance featuring The Clark Sisters, Fred Hammond and Deitrick Haddon was postponed as severe weather affected Las Vegas, with the event's AXS listing confirming the postponement.
According to the announcement supplied, the performance has been moved to January 16, 2027, and existing tickets will be honored. A social media post associated with producer Dr. Holly Carter also references that replacement date, although AXS currently displays the rescheduled date as "TBD." Ticket holders should retain their tickets and check their purchase account for the updated event details.
The weather disruption extended beyond an inconvenient forecast. FOX5 reported that post-tropical cyclone Rachel brought flooding to roads near the Las Vegas Strip, with rushing water overwhelming storm channels near Virgin Hotels. Crews closed roads to remove mud and debris, while strong winds brought down power lines in North Las Vegas.
The announcement attributes the postponement to concern for attendees and performers amid the dangerous conditions. Local weather reporting documented heavy rainfall across Southern Nevada, including more than 2.5 inches at some gauges around Centennial Hills, alongside a flash-flood threat and powerful wind gusts.
The interruption comes during an ambitious effort to establish a new platform for gospel entertainment in Las Vegas. Presented by IKON Presents and Dr. Holly Carter of Relévé Entertainment, the residency brought The Clark Sisters, Fred Hammond and Deitrick Haddon together at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Its opening schedule included October 8 and 9, with October 11 added following demand.
Promotional materials describe the production as the first gospel music residency on the Las Vegas Strip "in this music era," positioning the series as a significant moment for the genre. Its lineup combines The Clark Sisters' celebrated harmonies, Hammond's influential urban praise and worship sound, and Haddon's contemporary gospel presence.
For fans who planned to attend Sunday's show, the immediate question is when the replacement performance will appear across official ticketing channels. The announced January date offers a path forward, while the postponement underscores the practical challenge of protecting audiences and artists when severe weather disrupts a major entertainment weekend.
