NEEDTOBREATHE has released "Past The Gates" featuring Anne Wilson, the latest preview of the band's upcoming deluxe album. The expanded edition, titled The Long Surrender and The Fellow Passengers of Pain, arrives Nov. 19 via MCA.
The deluxe album adds six new songs to the band's recent record, The Long Surrender, with contributions from Jonah Kagen, Evan Honer, Bre Kennedy and Wilson, among others. The original album was produced by nine-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb. The new collection expands on themes of surrender, transformation and renewal.
Wilson said she has been a huge fan of the band for years and called the collaboration an honor. Band member Josh Lovelace said it was the group's first time meeting her.
Louder describes the song as acoustic-based, with earthy piano and gospel energy, with Wilson adding extra vocal power. Nashville.com calls the pairing a meeting of rock, country and faith-based music.
NEEDTOBREATHE, a South Carolina band, is known as one of the biggest crossover Christian bands of the 21st century. A lyric video for "Past The Gates" is available on YouTube.
