Beetlejuice 2 news: Director of Dark Shadows picks it up with an anticipated movie release and with possible Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder spoilers up ahead

It's finally coming true! Beetlejuice 2 news is finally here. Yes, Beetlejuice is finally getting a sequel after its debut in 1988. The comedy/horror flick is reported to have been picked up by Dark Shadows scriptwriter and producer Seth Grahame-Smith, who is also known for his work: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and may be directed again by Tim Burton himself.

The original Beetlejuice premiered on March 30, 1988 and was directed by Tim Burton with screenplay by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson. It sported the all star cast of Alec Baldwin, Michael Keaton, Geena Davis, Jeffery Jones, Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara and Silvia Sydney. The film also garnered multiple nominations from the 61st Academy Awards and had ranked in the 88th spot of the American Film Institute's list of Best Comedies.

Though it may not be total Beetlejuice 2 spoilers but riginal cast members Michael Keaton, who played the role of Beetlejuice in the first film, and that Winona Ryder, who played the role of teenage goth girl Lydia Deetz, expressed interested in reprising their roles in the planned Bettlejuice 2 movie. Ryder shares on how the movie had made a turning point in her career stating that it was a huge part of her and what it gave her career. Furthermore, Keaton shares that he has been in contact with Burton and has been talking about the possibility of a Beetlejuice 2 movie saying that both of them are excited about it.

The Beetlejuice 2 movie release date has yet to have a confirmed nor it is known if production has started or not.
