'Sherlock' Season 4 Release Date Latest Updates: Christmas Special In December, Regular Episodes In 2016, Spoilers And Rumors

'Sherlock' season 4 release date latest update is that the series will only come in early 2016 as per the sources. The show will have a special episodes for Christmas in December for the fans. 'Sherlock' is based on 'Sherlock Holmes' first written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

It is confirmed that the script is been worked upon. Telegraph reports Moffat saying "we're all keen to continue", but it is difficult to co-ordinate the lead actors' schedules. And obviously Mark [Gatiss] and I have our other commitments too, but it's just a matter of scheduling." Sources believe Moffat and Gatiss also announced that they have developed plots for a 4th and 5th installment.

BBC on July 2, 2014  announced that a full-length special episode of Sherlock will begin the shooting in January 2015 and the regular 3 episodes sometime later in the year. That's good news for the fans. The series will be written by Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat and Stephen Thompson and directed by Paul McGuigan, Euros Lyn, Toby Haynes, Colm McCarthy, Nick Hurran and Jeremy Lovering.

The concluding episode of 'Sherlock' 3 was aired on January 12, 2014. The first episode was aired on January 1, 2014. So we can expect a similar date for the 'Sherlock' season 4 in January 2016. There will be 3 episodes only as usual. It will be aired on BBC.
