Iron Man 4 movie release date is pending Marvel's announcement and Robert Downey Jr. is not ready to give up the throne yet!
Tony Stark's fate hangs on the balance after The Avengers 2. We have no word yet when the sequel to Iron Man will be. Maybe, we can at least wait after The Avengers 2 as there were speculations that this would be Iron Man's demise. Well, we think that Marvel just wouldn't allow that yet, considering the Iron Man franchise had raked in huge money at the domestic and global box office.
According to the man himself, Robert Downey Jr., he doesn't want to "overstay [his] welcome" with fans and might retire from the character. He further explained when ambushed by this questions that, "it's all up to the Marvel officials." He continued to say it's been a great ride and everyone's enjoyed it. "It's that thing of: Why give up the belt when it feels like you can barely get jabbed?" teased the actor. "Most people are saying that right when they get knocked out."
So from the looks of it, it seems that Downey himself won't give the title to somebody else - yet. Downey will be reprising Iron Man once again with The Avengers 2 movie slated for a May 2015 release date. And yeah, Downey did mention that he likes "Guardians of the Galaxy" so much that it is better than his own Marvel-inspired films.
In the meantime, we can catch Downey playing a lawyer whose father is suspected for murder in The Judge. The film is now playing at the Toronto International Film Festival and will have regular screenings come October 10.
