'True Detective' Season 2 Rumors, Latest News and Updates: HBO Confirmed 'True Detective' Will Be Back In Action! True Detective Season 2 Rumored to Premiere Summer of 2015!
Looking for some True Detective Season 2 updates? If so, then we've got some exciting updates for you.
With the first season of the TV series becoming an instant hit, a second season was already a secured deal. So what does the True Detectives have in store for its loyal fans and viewers this season?
According to a True Detective Season 2 news update from the website of DenOfGeek, it has been confirmed by HBO that it has secured a second season for the show: it means that you will see the detectives back in action sometime next year.
It has also reported that Woody Harrelson, who played Rust Cohle, and Matthew McConaughey, who was casted as Martin Harte, will be back next season for the same roles. For those who are not that familiar with the show, the two characters, who are former homicide detectives, have been called in by the police department to inform a new group of cops regarding a case that was already closed.
In a separate True Detectives 2nd Season update, the website TrueDetectiveRumors has confirmed that the new season has already begun its filming and production.
"We're going to start shooting in September for it to air next summer,"Michael Lombardo, HBO programming director, told an audience at the Edinburgh TV Festival during the summer, confirming the "True Detective" Season 2 premiere date. "[It has] different characters, a different setting. It's set in California, all of California. There are three cops. One of the characters is female. I think that's probably all I'm allowed to say. We'll probably be announcing casting soon."
It is also rumored that Justin Lin, the director of the Fast and Furious movie franchise, is going to direct a few of the show's new episodes.
Those are some pieces of good news but there are some potentially bad news as well.
According to the TrueDetectiveRumors, Elizabeth Moss may no longer be a True Detective Season 2 cast member. The website further reports that her replacement may be in the form of The Notebook star Rachel McAdams.
