"Avatar 2": Big Screen Return of "Avatar" Showcases a Whole New World in 2016

After becoming a global phenomenon last 2009, the fans are now thrilled to know that they will see the "Avatar" movie return to the big screen.

The upcoming film cast members will star 2012 ALMA Award Winner Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, 2010 Saturn Award Winner Best Actor Sam Worthingtin as Jake Sully, 2013 Primetime Emmer Nominee Sigourney Weaver as Grace, and 2010 Saturn Award Best Supporting Actor Stephen Lang as Miles Quaritch.

Sam Worthington will reprise his role as the main character in the sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" Series and its sequels. Previously, he had his getaway roles in movies "Clash of the Titans," "Man on a Ledge," and "Sabotage."

James Cameron is set to pilot and produce the forthcoming "Avatar 2," with Jon Landau as co-producer and Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Josh Friedman as co-writers. Cameron gave a teaser about the sequels in Cinemablend. He said that the sequels will introduce "whole new worlds, habitats and cultures." The director's preview gives the probability of meeting some sorts of "alien species."

In The Movie Bit, the director shares his thoughts about the Avatar sequels. "First of all, you don't want to deal with political issues in entertainment films. The Avatar films - and oceans will be an outgoing theme in all of the sequels, not just "Avatar 2" - are meant to create a sense of wonder and connection to the natural world," he said. "I hope that when people watch them they can say, "I want to be part of that world, the world that is real," and hopefully that translates into them camping in a redwood forest or snorkeling on a coral reef. You can't feel that you are ready to make a sacrifice in your lifestyle to protect something unless you respect and love it," the director added.

Meanwhile, the sequel will possibly be screened at 120 frames per second, according to The Hollywood News. Douglas Trumbull and producer John Landau improve a new strategy of projecting a 3D, 4K image at 120 frames per second.

The upcoming movie is set to be released in theaters and cinemas in December 2016 under 20th Century Fox. To watch the movie trailer, access the video.
