Darlene Zschech Shares in This Interview Her Struggles with Cancer
Two years ago, worship leader and songwriter Darlene Zschech discovered she had breast cancer. After much prayers and treatment, God has completely healed Zschech. Now, the writer of "Shout to the Lord" is back ministering again. Together with Martin Smith, Darlene Zschech had just returned from leadingworship in India where she led thousands of Indian Christians in worship singing worship songs such as her own "Shout to the Lord" as well as songs that were integral to her journey of healing such as Chris Tomlin's recent #1 hit "Good Good Father."
Recently, Zschech was interviewed by Emma Mullings of Sydney's Hope 103.2. This is one of the most honest and inspiring interview where Zschech not only gives many personal details of her triumphs over cancer, but it also offers great wisdom for anyone struggling. Zschech says of the videos: "they are deep, they are meaningful and I pray they are helpful. Be encouraged and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus."
Known for worship staples such as "Worthy is the Lamb," "High and Lifted Up," "Cry of the Broken," Zschech for years was the worship pastor of Hillsong Church. She has fronted at least 20 of their live worship recordings and she has brought their music to an International level. Besides her work with Hillsong, Zschech is also a pastor, worship leader, speaker, and she has also released her solo live worship project Revealing Jesus with Integrity Music. BJ Putnam, Israel Houghton, Miriam Webster, Michael W. Smith and Kari Jobe were some of her guests featured on the album.
Zschech has just released her brand new book Worship Changes Everything. Here's a brief synopsis of the book: "We know God's presence isn't confined to a church building or only available at certain times of day. But we still miss His working even when He is right in front of our very eyes. Why? Because we are still learning the art of knowing and following the voice of the Holy Spirit as He speaks. Two people hear the same song. One experiences God, and one daydreams about something that needs to be done at work next week. Two people face a crisis in life. One experiences an overwhelming sense of grace flood over her in her pain--after all, He is not just present but our very present help in times of trouble (see Psalm 46:1)--while the other feels nothing but hurt, betrayal, and loneliness. Why? It's all about how and where we place our faith and expectation. Don't wait until you have things figured out. Don't wait until you feel spiritual. Expect Him right now. Emmanuel. He is with us."
