Sidewalk Prophets’ New Album, "The Things That Got Us Here" Debuts at #1
Curb recording artist Sidewalk Prophets are not being slowed by time or the pandemic - their new album, The Things That Got Us Here, debuted last week as the #1 Christian album according to Nielsen Music Connect, which is the band's highest chart debut to date. They also capped off release week with a livestream concert for their "Great Big Family" from the historic Ryman Auditorium on July 9, 2020, boasting over 220K views, with over 105 DSPs, media, and radio partners cross-posting the event.
"We are overwhelmed at the incredible support of our fans, who truly are our 'Great Big Family'," shares front man Dave Frey. "We were able to realize one of our dreams by playing the Ryman Auditorium, but that dream was made even sweeter when we realized that over 220,000 people tuned in to watch, far more than the Ryman could hold in ten shows. On top of that, stories and encouragements have been flooding in for the new album. We are touched, blessed and honored by what the Lord has done in one week's time!"
As live shows continue to be cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns, Sidewalk Prophets is taking an innovative approach to the live touring experience, as the band is in the middle of a "virtual tour." Pioneering what a virtual livestream event looks like, the show includes 3D elements in which viewers wear 3D glasses, while still enjoying the show without them, and a complete high definition multimedia experience, setting new expectations for live show creativity. Every show is live, giving the same unique show-to-show experience as a live tour would.
On top of front man Dave Frey becoming a first-time father in May, the band's current radio single "Chosen" can currently be found climbing the Christian radio charts and is available on all DSPs now. For more information, visit www.sidewalkprophets.com.
