Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, remains missing nearly nine months after she vanished from her Tucson-area home. As the case approaches the nine-month mark with no updates on leads or suspects, reporter Andrew Christiansen shared details about meeting her months before her disappearance.
Christiansen said he met Nancy in October and that she looked great. He said she needed no help walking and appeared mentally sharp when they spoke. Asked whether anything seemed unusual in hindsight, he said no. His account is a personal recollection and doesn't change the status of the investigation. Earlier reports described her as being in fragile physical health.
No suspect has been publicly named. Sheriff Chris Nanos has said the case is not cold. Evidence has gone to four specialized labs, and authorities have not announced a breakthrough from the testing. The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward, and the FBI is offering up to $100,000.
Anyone with information can call the Pima County Sheriff's Department at 520-351-4900 or the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
JubileeCast continues to pray for Nancy's safe return and for the Guthrie family during this long wait.
