American Idol runner-up Bo Bice is turning heads with a dramatic new look, and he has new music to go with it.
Bice, who finished second to Carrie Underwood in 2005, posted before-and-after photos on October 29. They show the result of losing 89 pounds and cutting off his signature long hair and beard. Fox News reported that the makeover came after a two-year music hiatus, and fans have been sounding off about it.
He shared the photos in honor of his new song, "Brand New Man," and described the change as a new life and style with "the same southern soul." The song doesn't appear to be on streaming services yet.
According to his website, Bice is also working on a new album, Resurrected, planned for 2027. He last released music in 2024, when his song "Born of Heroes' Blood" won an award at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards.
Bice has released five albums since Idol, blending rock, country, blues and gospel. The title of his upcoming album, Resurrected, points to a fresh start, and for fans of his gospel-tinged sound, the song and album may be worth watching for.
